Only had to wait 5 minutes for a table after we gave our phone number and preordered. Sat on the second floor, which was packed and extremely noisy. Not a place for pleasant conversation.
Stacey helped us redeem reward points and get my complimentary birthday tiramisu. Since we only get to Chicago once every five years, this is a first for both points and birthday treat. She took good care of us, and was friendly and efficient. (We get points by ordering USPS delivery to FL once a year!)
To fully savor a Lou's pizza, use a knife and fork to cut it into small bites. It lasts longer, and every bite is special. It doesn't matter what kind of pizza you order. They are all good. We couldn't finish ours, so we'll be eating it for breakfast. It's even better the day after.
The tiramisu was interesting. I've never had one. I like lady fingers, and the nuts and chocolate. But the espresso was really strong. Part of it was still frozen, and the ice crystals did not taste good. Stacey said it should NOT have been frozen, and gave us one to go. I'm sure it will be delicious. -

I went to this Lou's on a Wednesday night. It's rare that there's no wait at 'my' Lou Malnati's closer to my house, so it was nice not having to wait for a table at this Schaumburg location! We were sat immediately. It was still pretty crowded for a week night, though! They sat me and my date up in the loft area of this Lou's, which is basically set up like a two story house. It was a bit cramped, to be honest, and a bit loud, but there were only a few times where I felt like we were in the way. I give it to the waitstaff, because I wouldn't want to navigate this location with hot pizzas in my hands!
Speaking of the pizza-- it was delicious! If you're new to Lou Malnati's, I'd recommend The Lou. It's full of spinach'y, mushroom'y goodness! Hand's down, it's my favorite option when going to Lou's! (Just writing about it makes me want another slice!) One slice of the deep dish pizza is basically enough to fill anyone up, so prepare to bring leftovers home! We also had the bruschetta, which was okay, but kind of 'meh'. Then again, we were both there basically for the pizza, so one so so app didn't hurt our experience!
One thing I would love for them to fix is the parking. The parking lot is a bit uncomfortable and it's hard to know what is 'their' lot. It's also a bit run down. But as far as the food is concerned, Lou Malnati's always hits it out of the park! -

This is the epitome of good Chicago Pizza. I really cannot imagine deep dish getting any better than this.
When I found out I was headed back to Chicago for a short business trip I deliberately booked my hotel close to Lou Malnati's. A minor inconvenience but well worth it for the quality of pizza at Lou's.
I ordered the pepperoni with sausage and I was not disappointed. I had high expectations and they were surpassed. That is rare.
The pie takes a while to bake so be patient. I think I waited 30minutes but I was glad to sit at that table alone in anticipation as I kept seeing other tables devour these masterpieces.
The sauce was perfect and full of flavor. The crust is definitely the star of the show for me. It was buttery and flaky but yet airy. The toppings were fresh and you could taste the quality. The sausage came in large slices which just added another layer of flavor to the already flavor packed pie. It is a mystery to me how the pizza can have that much sauce and not be soggy.
All the deep dish pizza will now be judged against Lou Malnati's. Sadly, I feel that only a few will measure up and it may be all downhill from here. -

CHICAGO DEEP DISH PIZZA! i couldn't leave this city without trying some deep dish pizza and it was great! my table ordered the regular portion of the buffalo wings and the malnati chicago classic pizza (added pepperonis). this spot was located more in the suburbs, rather than within the heart of the city. i loved the wings and i loved the deep dish pizza.... and that's all i really have to say. 5/5
